Isaiah Z Johnson is a Boston-based musician and artist who is deeply influenced by the New England landscape and his passion for the outdoors. Isaiah grew up in Greater Boston on the land of the Massachusett, Nipmuc, and Wampanoag people and now works for the Mystic River Watershed Association helping to protect and restore the Mystic River and to connect people to the region's incredible natural resources. Outside of work, he spends his time writing, playing, and recording music, taking photos, and practicing outdoor skills like foraging and hide tanning.
Isaiah released his first professional solo album in June 2024, titled Equinox at Heron Lake. A little bit folk and a little bit indie rock with a pinch of twang, the album covers themes of growing up in New England and the changing of the seasons.
On this site, you'll find links to Isaiah's music, photos he has been taking with his old digital camera, and some of his outdoor projects from the past few years - mostly from the early part of the pandemic.
